Backwoodsman

Yesterday I did backwoodsman cooking. Our batch decided to make a simple meal( Chicken breasts, Potatoes, eggs and sausages) as we had not done backwoodsman for such a long time due to COVID-19. While my batchmates went to buy the ingredients after it got approved by the teachers. The rest of us collected tinder and kindle for the fire. However we later realized that the ingredients that we bought was not halal this our Muslim scouts could not eat or touch the chicken and sausage.
After we got lectured that we should be more careful when buying food we started cooking. After we reached the backwoodsman area we starting to dig our individual pits we decided to create a teepee structure. We also washed all the cooking equipment and have the cooking stations prepared.
After which we started the fire using a matchstick and tried to sustain by constantly blowing and adding fuel.
When the heat was stable we started to cook the food. I decided to start cooking the potatoes as it takes the longest to cook. We submerged the potato into mud so that to ensure that the insides of the potato was cooked properly. After which we placed the potato was placed into the pile of ember.
For the sausages and chicken we cooked it by shaving the bark of the twig and using it to skewer the sausage.
For the eggs we poked a hole at the top of the egg and slowly place it into the pit. However due to the lack of time we were not able to to plate our food. We all enjoyed ourselves as we ate the food and we were all looking forward to this activity for so long
