How the scout promise and law can be part of my life

Scout Promise and Law

From the scout promise "I promise that I will do my best" I learnt that I should not give up when faced with an obstacle and instead face is bravely. I also leant to always give my best no matter what I do. 

From the scout promise "To do my duty to God and Republic of Singapore" I learnt to not only care about myself but care about the progression of the country as well as remain religious.

From the scout promise " To help other people" I learnt to be less self centered and care for other people.

From the scout law "A scout is to be trusted" I learnt to trust people more as well as keep what they said to me private.

From the scout law " A scout is loyal" I learnt not to ditch my friends and always help them no matter what.

From the scout law "A scout makes friends, established and maintains harmonious relations" I also learnt to make new friends and maintain my relationships .

From the scout law " A scout is disciplined and considerate" I learnt not to be a nuisance in public.

Lastly from the scout law " A scout has courage in all difficulties" I learnt to move out of my comfort zone and try things I had never tried before.

 I learnt how to play Guzheng when I was P2 as our school had a program for students to learn how to play it at the start I thought it was very though as we had to pluck the wires to make a sound. But as they thought us more I learnt a lot and managed to pass the course. To pass the course my class had to do a performance and show the instructor that we knew how to play it. This is my Guzheng Certification from P2. And when I joined scouts I realized there was a musician badge so I decided to use this certification to get it.

My overall proficiency badge attainment

Proficiency badges are on of the key elements in scouting as it displays what a scout has achieved. I started working on my proficiency badges as I thought it looked cool on the uniform. My PL told me to submit certificates to attain badges.  The badge that made the most impact was Civics as I learnt a lot about Singapore and I also learnt things like Lentor is part of Ang Mo Kio instead of Yio Chu Kang although  Lentor is closer to Yio Chu Kang. We also visited the supreme court as part of the component moreover, it was very enjoyable.  The badge I enjoy getting the most was world friendship as I interacted with people overseas and learnt about their country and what they enjoy. It was quite enjoyable as I made a new friend while doing it. Some other badges I attain is  Musician, Canoeist I, Boat puller I, First aider and Sailor I. Treating injuries

 I learnt how to treat common injuries that may happen during outdoor activities. How to treat cuts 1 Wash your hands 2 Stop the bleeding 3 Clean the wound 4 Apply an antibiotic or petroleum jelly. 5 cover the wound 6 change the dressing 7 watch for signs of infection How to treat Bruises 1 Rest the bruised area, if possible 2 Ice the bruise with an ice pack wrapped in a towel. Leave it in place for 10 to 20 minutes. Repeat several times 3 Compress the bruised area if it is swelling 4 Elevate the injured area How to treat burns 1 cool the burn 2 Remove rings or other right items 3 Do not break Blisters 4 Apply lotion 5 Bandage the burn
